1970: MA in Economic Theory, University of Economics, Budapest, Hungary
1971-1977: executive at the International Financial Affairs Department, Ministry of Finance, engaged in issues of CMEA financial cooperation especially focusing on the coefficient of the transferable currency
1977-1979: three-year postgraduate scholarship for analyzing the potentials of CMEA cooperation at the micro level
1980: gained the degree PhD on the basis of a study concerning the above subject
1982: Micro-level Relations in the CMEA, a study published by Közgazdasági és Jogi Könyvkiadó
1981-2002: joined the Institute for World Economic s (IWE) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, specialized on the theoretical and practical problems of economic integration
1988: the EC/EU became the centre of research; questions of financial cooperation and preparations for the Economic and Monetary Union I have been dealing with; another major field of my research is German economy and the role and interests of Germany in the European integration process
1991: head of the Integration Centre of IWE as research director; at IWE 10-12 research fellows have been investigating each aspects of European integration process
1993-2001: conducting three seminars on EU integration at the University of Economics, Budapest, Manager Training
1998-1999: An Honest Book on the Dilemmas of the European Integration Process containing the essays of German and Hungarian researchers; I was the editor and one of the authors of the volume
2000: the book appeared in German too, Erweiterung und Vertiefungk der Europäischen Union published by NOMOS Verlagsgesellschaft; conducting seminars on EMU at the World Economics Department of Szeged University
2001: head of a major project The Development of the European Union and Hungarian Accession prepared for the Ministry of Economics
2001-2004: head of the so-called "megaproject" of the Ministry of Education, The Strategic Tasks Towering over the European Union ... incorporating various institutions of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
2002: head of department at the Szolnok college with 6000 students attending lectures on the EU for two semesters
2003: the volume "EU-Kaleidoszkóp" published by KIK-Kerszöv. this book also appeared in Hungarian-German cooperation
