At the beginning of his Ph.D. studies Attila began working on and gaining insight into general energy issues. Thus he focused on issues related to energy resources, energy technologies, petroleum geology and petrochemicals. Further, he studied issues related to energy and climate policy, energy efficiency, geopolitics and the history of the oil industry. Broadly speaking, he has developed general familiarity with the energy sector and has worked on several geopolitical and global research studies related primarily to commodity and energy markets. In 2010 Attila began conducting research on the corporate strategies of the petroleum industry. The first part of his Ph.D. thesis on the strategies of oil and gas companies was submitted in January 2011.
